Bella
Bella's
introduction to holistic and alternative medicine began 3 years ago when
she lost control and strength in her hind legs. She was weak, very
anxious and scared and depressed. After a number of x-rays and tests,
our vet treated her with steroids. She endured the side effects for a
couple of months with little improvement in strength and control of her
hind legs. We were at a loss. We just wanted her to be able to walk on
her own. We didn't know if we would ever see her run again. So we began
our search for alternative treatments and landed at the front door of
Loving Touch Animal Center.
Our first
appointment was with Dr. Pat Zook. She observed the lack of tone in
Bella's hind legs and a sensitivity in her spine to touch. She told us
we needed to commit to 8 treatments in
order for Bella's body to begin the process of healing herself. She also
put Bella on a series of supplements and Chinese herbals and prescribed
acupuncture once a week for the first series of treatments. We were
relieved that after the initial treatment Bella was feeling better and
improving slowly. After 3 treatments she was beginning to trot around
the ffice and show the girsl at the front desk how well she could walk.
She continued to improve and our spirits continued to lift as we all
became believers and witnesses to her continued healing and improvement.
By the 8th treatment Bella was running and feeling like herself and
finding mischief as Weimaraners do. We never imagined we would see her
run down chipmunks and birds and hunt the way she was bred to do. We
were thrilled when she began stealing off the counters because we knew
this meant she was confident on her hind legs. Bella reached another
major turning point when Caring Canine introduced aqua therapy which
allowed her to exercise without putting too much strain on her legs.
Lisa and Jenn really pushed her to work hard and to gradually increase
stamina and strength.
Bella is
almost 11 years old now and she continues her treatments and supplements
from Loving Touch Animal Center. She is as amazing as her spirit is
enduring. She has truly tested the limits of their knowledge in both
traditional and alternative medicine, but thanks to the patience,
support, and devoted care she received from Dr. Pat Zook and Dr. Thomas
Hyatt she remains curious, courageous, and healthy. The entire staff at
Loving Touch Animal Center has been her cheering squad as she has
battled ups and downs of her condition. We still don't know exactly what
happened to Bella, but we do know we have our sweet girl back. She is
the happy mischievious Weimaraner she always was, finding trouble around
every corner.
Thank you
Loving Touch and Caring Canine for your care and tenacity in the
treatment of your patients and our families.
